WARRINGTON CINE
AND VIDEO SOCIETY

Welcome to the WCVS

Treasurer Derek Belton and Secretary Marjorie Belton
Warrington Cine and Video Society have been making films since 1936.
We are an established club in the North West of England, and we are affiliated to the IAC (The Film and Video Institute).
Our first President was George Formby, and past members include: David Yates, best known for directing Harry Potter Films, and Mark Olly, archaeologist and TV Presenter. Our members use film and video to make amateur movies for pleasure and competitions. As a club we have made both story films and documentaries. Since our return to meetings in 2021, it was agreed that Audio Visual (AV) should be included in our programme.
The Society has been successful in both regional and national competitions and Society Archive films have been shown on television. We welcome all new potential members, whatever their level of expertise or experience.
If you are interested in movie making, acting, or script writing, or you would just like to visit, why not come along?
We meet every Monday at 7:45 pm (except Bank Holidays and Christmas, with fortnightly meetings in the summer).
Venue for meetings: St Martin’s Methodist Church Hall, Gig Lane, Woolston, Warrington WA1 4EE. For more information e-mail us at wcvs.1936@btinternet.com
